JUST WHEN THE WORLD NEEDS LESS PLANE TRAVEL.

February 2023 is already engraved in gold letters in the aeronautical sector, after the agreement that Air India reached with Airbus and Boeing, in which it will buy 250 and 290 aircraft, respectively. The first agreement announced was that of Airbus. Among the 250 requested aircraft are 140 A320neo narrow-body single-aisle aircraft and 70 A321neo aircraft. Without official figures, specialized media such as Bloomberg estimate the agreement has a cost of more than 120 billion dollars. The pandemic highlighted the incredible drop in emissions and the benefits from severely reduced travel but now the levels are higher now than before. With developing countries now achieving prosperity the sadness is it comes with a climate crisis that requires everybody to curtail the activities that involve fossil fuel usage.
