CARBON OFFSET A FALSE DREAM THAT WILL NEVER WORK ALONE.

Carbon offsetting involves reducing carbon emissions in one area to compensate for emissions produced elsewhere. For example, a company might invest in a project that plants trees or installs renewable energy in order to offset their own carbon emissions. While carbon offsetting can help reduce the amount of carbon in the atmosphere, it is important to recognize that it does not address the root causes of climate change, which are the burning of fossil fuels and deforestation, among other human activities. Therefore, carbon offsetting should be seen as a complementary strategy to other efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, such as transitioning to renewable energy sources, improving energy efficiency, and implementing policies to reduce carbon emissions. In order to truly solve the climate crisis, a comprehensive approach that includes a rapid and significant reduction in carbon emissions across all sectors of society, as well as efforts to adapt to the impacts of climate change, is needed. Accountants may sell it as a solution but without complete removal of fossil fuels it is a false dream, so sadly the prophets of doom look likely to be prophets of reality.
